Online Tickets

How can I get access to the museum?
Access is only possible if you buy your ticket online. Online tickets are available on the website. We will use time slots in order to optimise safe access to our visitors.

Can I visit the museum spontaneously and buy a ticket at the front desk?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept unscheduled visits for the time being. Access to the museum is only possible by means of an online ticket purchased in advance.

Will the CANDID exhibition be open to the public?
The CANDID exhibition is open to the public. The admission fee includes a visit to the CANDID exhibition. The exhibition is a fixed part of the museum route.

Card holders

I have a membership card, discount card, or a voucher. Do I also need to reserve a ticket online?
Card holders must reserve online by purchasing a zero-fare ticket. Unfortunately, we cannot accept unscheduled visits for the time being. Cards must be shown at the museum.
We will exclusively accept the Museumkaart, Rotterdampas, Dordtpas, Ooievaarspas, ICOM-pas, Vriendenpas, vouchers, and ANWB tickets. We cannot accept the Hollandpas at present.
Press visits are exclusively possible by prior appointment on pr@panorama-mesdag.nl

I am a Friend of MESDAG. Do I also need to reserve a ticket online?
Friends of Mesdag must reserve their free access online. In order to optimise safe access, we must spread the number of visitors. Membership cards must be shown at the museum. Unfortunately, we cannot accept unscheduled visits for the time being.

Combination Tickets

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept combination tickets at present.

Time Slots

We will use time slots in order to optimise safe access to our visitors. We can receive new visitors every 15 minutes. Access is only possible if you buy your ticket online.

What is a time slot?
By using time slots we can optimise safe access by spreading the number of visitors across the day and in our museum rooms. We can receive a maximum of 10 visitors every 15 minutes. Every visitor will follow a fixed route in the museum. Every time slot starts on every full quarter of an hour. Your museum visit will last a maximum of 90 minutes.

In order to enhance a smooth entry and welcome we kindly but explicitly request you to arrive 15 minutes before your slot starts, and not earlier. This means you will have ample time for the cloak room and hygiene measures. Visitors cannot be allowed access any earlier than 15 minutes before the reserved time slot.

What are the schedules of the time slots?
The museum is open every day from 10 am – 6 pm. The first time slot starts at 10 am, the next one at 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, etc. The final time slot starts at 4:45 pm.

10 access tickets are available in each time slot.
Visitors will follow a fixed route in the museum and spend a maximum of 90 minutes in the museum. The remaining 30 minutes of your visit can be spent in the catering facility or museum shop at your discretion.
We request all visitors kindly but explicitly to be present 15 minutes before the start of the time slot, for hygiene measures, cloak room, and introduction.

Rules & extra measures

Can I visit the museum when I have symptoms of a cold?
In accordance with national measures you are expected to stay at home when you suffer from symptoms of a cold or have a fever. We will gladly receive you as soon as you have no symptoms anymore. The same rules apply to the museum staff members.

What hygiene measures have been taken in the museum?
We aim for higher hygiene levels in order to allow safe museum visits. During opening hours, contact items and surfaces touched by people will be cleaned more often. This includes door handles, taps, lockers, payment terminals, and toilets. Disinfectant hand gel is available on various sites in the museum. Besides, we provide protective disposable gloves to visitors and museum staff members. These facilities are available at the front desk.

Is it possible to pay in cash?
We kindly request everyone to pay contactless for hygiene reasons. Cash payments are not possible for the time being in the interest of safety for all those concerned.

Do you have to wear a face mask when you visit the museum?
You are not obliged to wear a face mask. However, everyone is free to wear a face mask.
This also applies to museum staff members.

Museum Shop

Is the museum shop open?
The museum shop is open. We kindly request you to only touch items you intend to purchase. Protective disposable gloves are available from the shop desk. Items you purchase can only be paid for electronically.

Museum Café

Is the MUSEUM CAFÉ open?
The museum café is open. The layout of the museum café has been adapted to guarantee a 1.5-metre social distance. The number of seats is limited. We also cater for a ‘to go’ range. Payment can only be effected electronically.

Can I book a guided tour?
For now, it is not possible to book a guided tour during opening hours. Please contact us on info@panorama-mesdag.nl for customized guided tours after opening hours.

Do you offer courses, workshops, lectures, and other public activities?
We are currently investigating what we can offer. We hope to be able to offer public activities once more, as soon as national measures allow us to. Please check our website for up-to-date information.

Education

Can we book an education programme for the next school year?
Education offers can be booked – subject to approval – in morning time slots from 9-11 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Please check our website for more information.

Group visits

Can I book a group visit to the museum?
